VStoy Wooden Frame Hourglass Sand Timer Black Frame Blue Sand … (White Frame Green 30 Minutes)

Ok, this timer isn't bad, it was just about 7 seconds over, with a very light layer of sand stuck to the sides, very not noticeable though. The wood is nice or i think that black frame is wood, i didn't find any weird unfinished areas or rough marks. The hour glass portion isn't attached all that evenly was off to one side a little more then the other side, but it doesn't affect operation, only if you're nitpicky would you notice. Other then that, yeah i can see this thing breaking if you drop it on the floor. The glass looks pretty thin, but what do you expect, it's an hour glass lol. Oh and i bought the standard one with white sand thinking i didn't want too girly color like purple or pink lol, but now that i got the white, it's harder to see, the colored ones would be much easier to see but overall, it's cool. Oh and what's a good use for 30 minute hourglass? Well, for health they recommend sitting job people to stand up every 30 minutes, just standing supposedly reduced cholesterol by 6%.

When this arrived, it was well packaged, but had a sticker that said accurate to +/-10%. I have used it several times and it seems spot-on for the 30 minutes.What do I use it for? I get a 30 minute lunch break. As it's impossible to go anywhere in that amount of time I eat at my desk. I am constantly interrupted for minor trivia, even though it's obvious I'm eating. I am supposed to tell them I'm at lunch and come back later, but I just can't do that, so I help them and then have to guess at how much time was used. With this hourglass, I can start it, then when interrupted place it on it's side to stop; and then re-start it when the issue is resolved. It also lets the folks know (in a subtle way) that I'm really at lunch. This is a convenient low-tech solution. I thought about using a kitchen alarm, but that is not appropriate in a work environment.As a side note: The purple color I ordered is actually more vibrant in color than is reflected in the picture. I adore the spot of color at my desk!

31 minutes, 46 seconds. The timer coined with a +/- 10% disclaimer. So don't expect perfect accuracy. However, it's a sand timer, so you're probably not buying it for pinpoint accuracy. 4 stars for that, though, since I had to sit there with a stop watch and figure out the actual time.The product looks great. It's about 6 in tall, and well made. And, unlike another company who shipped me a broken one, this company actually packs it knowing that usps/ups will dropkick your package 17 times before delivery, so it arrived well protected --bonus!

Simple, attractive item. Smaller than I had expected, though I'm pretty sure that info was in the listing and I just didn't envision the measurements. The flow is small enough that it's not obvious without really looking for it. Didn't really like that at first because the point is to show time actively passing. But it has grown on me for the same reason, as I can see the effects of time passing whether or not I notice the moment. I haven't tested the length of time much, just enough to see it was in range, and the 30-minute clock serves my purposes well.

This comes in a box saying it's 10%+/- accuracy but I timed it twice and it was only 30 seconds off, which is totally acceptable in my book! Especially since that could have been just my lack of accuracy in timing. I also love that it's so small...usually 60 minute timers are huge and this is totally a normal desktop size. The little black frame is strong and even and makes it both easy to turn and can hide the timer from someone when turned sideways, great if you use it for a client session.Then, of course, is the bargain basement price. I wholeheartedly recommend this to everyone!

The hourglass is really stylish and I love the blue color of the sand. It is overall a bit smaller than I imagined it might be -- the frame is about the size of a box of baking soda. One warning: It doesn't work perfectly; sometimes the sand sticks, but with a little shake I never have failed to get it started. I like the thoroughly analog idea of it.

Nice, I bought it to put on my Boss' desk, as I feel so embarrassed to interrupt him and tell him he is running over for his meetings. He loves it! now I just gotta get him to use it. It is smaller then you would anticipate- but its cute

Great for keeping the kids focused on eating their dinner. Our 3 year old hasn't broke it yet, but did figure out the glass is easily removed from the foam spacers that hold it between the wood frame. Wish it was more permanently attached, but guess we can glue it.
