SUUNTO Core Outdoor Sports Watch

Pros: cool looking, solid design, feels light, not too bulkyCons: functions are not too practical, display may be hard to see at times

Used for hunting and snowboarding in dry arid Wyoming climate. 3 months in the watch collected enough condensation during aerobic activity in the dry mountain environment to fry the motherboard. Sent it into Sunnto and had to wait 3 weeks for a reply. Because the O ring was faulty, Sunnot would not honor their 2 year warranty on a 3 month old watch.Waste of time and money.

Just like the other core I own the fit and finish is great, the quality is out stanting,it can withstand fresh water and salt water,the negative face looks awesome the storm alarm works which came in handy when I was grouper fishing in the gulf.I can never buy any other watch but a suunto! buy this watch off of amazon!!!!

Watch screen is very dark. Even with the backlight on. And it broke within 1yearof the without water a damage or other user related issues. It has a beautiful design. Readings are quite accurate, if you undestand the showrtcommings of wearing the sensors on your wrist. For example, it will be hard to get an accurate temprature output while the watch is on your wrist for the abvious reasons. Your body temperature could influence the sensors. In addition, you need to makesure that the sensor is clean and not engulfed with the natural skin oil, sweat and/or other outside elements. Rubberband is sturdy and very comfortable.Hower sincerely, screen is very hard to read unless you have 20/20 vision. Even you did, it is very dark and you mighht have to squent your eyes. You won't be able to see well if your surroundings are not very well lit, such as under the mediocrely lit indoors lighting. I have mine set-up to use backlight to turn on in everytime when a button is pushed. And it reduces the battery time.After purchasing my first Suunoto, I returned it back and ordered a pathfinder. However, I found out that Suunoto was much better in better in terms of its design, easy to use functionalities. Such as you can get to your baromoter readings with 2 presses.Consequently, I have returned the pathfinder and reordered the Suunoto. Nevertheless, I would not recommed this watch due to the reasons I have metioned above.

The watch is surprisingly light weight and fits comfortably. The rubber watch band locks tight and will only fall off if the band breaks. It does require a little extra time to remove, but gets easier as you become familiar. I like the black watch face, but there is not enough contrast to make it easy to read. I followed the set up process to change the contrast but it didn't help enough to make me want to keep the watch and the back light is too dim to easily read the face even in a dark room. I returned it for a Core Lava.

The watch does what it's supposed to do pretty well. My only complaint is that it's a little hard to read.

color is misleading, but I like it. Color is more gold which is plus in my book. This is my second Suunto Core and I love them.

Impossible to use but at least their customer service is unavailable! Bought for a gift for my dad and was going to buy myself one but now that I know the product glad I did not.

Ottimo orologio, robusto e affidabile.Usato in trekking, alpinismo, al mare e al fiume.Mai avuto un problema, la precisione dell'altimetro è ottima.L'unica lamentela riguarda la ghiera esterna: è in alluminio anodizzato, il contatto con la roccia è da evitare il più possibile.Per il resto nessun problema, consigliatissimo.

Hab die Suunto-Core (sahara yellow) 3 Wochen in Nepal bei der Besteigung eines 6000er benutzt. Letztlich kann man sagen, dass sie die Erwartungen erfüllt hat, eine Begeisterung konnte sie jedoch nicht auslösen. Die Ablesbarkeit auf dem dunklen Hintergrund ist ausreichend gut und nachts mit der Beleuchtung gut. Das nimmt man jedoch gerne in Kauf, um die Batterie zu schonen.Die Bedienung der Core ist kinderleicht und verdient klare 5 Sterne. Auch der barometrische Höhenmesser arbeitet sehr zuverlässig, wenn auch mit einer Ungenauigkeit von +/- 20m, doch mehr hatte ich auch nicht erwartet. Abzüge gibt es beim Temperaturmesser. Dass dieser zunächst die Armtemperatur misst liegt natürlich daran, dass man sie am Arm trägt. Doch auch nach dem Abnehmen dauert es fast 20min, bis sie von von +25Grad auf 0Grad herunter zählt - so ist das eigentlich unbrauchbar. Und wenn man die Uhr am Rucksack festbinden muss, dann braucht man keine Armbanduhr. Abzüge gibt's auch für den Alarm, welcher im Schlafsack so leise ist, dass er kaum wahrnehmbar ist. Der Kompass hingegen ist in Ordnung und tut was er soll. Hilfreich und gut sind auch die Dualzeit und die Sonnenaufgang/-untergangsanzeiger.Als Fazit kann man festhalten, dass die Suunto-Core ein guter und zuverlässiger Begleiter war, jedoch ohne herausragende technische Merkmale.

leider hat die uhr nicht einmal das ende der garantiezeit erreicht. schon nach 2 monaten war der kompass defekt, und kurz vor abauf der garantie war die anzeige der uhr einfach nur noch schwarz (nein, es lag nicht an der batterie).....

La sua leggerezza e comodità giocano un forte vantaggio mentre vi arrampicate da qualche parte in montagna e state con una mano aggrappata su una radice o un albero. Molto utile anche per le immersioni subacquee visto che resiste fino a 30 metri e grazie alle sue funzioni barometriche, calcola il tempo e la velocità di risalita.

山歩きに、高度計や気圧、気温の確認に購入。気温と体感温度、高度計による位置の把握など使って便利だと思います。ただし、使いこなしにはちょっとした段取りが必要です。例えば、高度計の場合は、気圧により変化するので、出発時の校正は必須となります。こういった使いこなしが大変という人には薦められません。ひと手間かけて、意味がある機器なので、自分に合うかは考えた方が良いでしょう。
