Best Bass Strings Manufactured
Let me be clear, I am a tone junky. I have these strings on several 4 and 5 string basses (American Jazz and Pbass, Peavey to name a few) and have found they enhance the tone and playability on every instrument I put them on. Lows are more pronounced and fuller sounding while your highs and mids are bright and punchy. Even though the gauge is higher than you may be used to, they have the feel and playability of lighter gauge strings with the tone and sustain of a heavier gauge. Perfect for the studio and rock solid in tune on the stage (not to mention they last forever). We have played most of the major venues in the Nashville area and the Cobalts have rocked it out everytime.

Great bass strings
I was skeptical that just changing the type of string could brighten up my sound while also scooping low end frequency AND give more overall volume, but I was willing to gamble 40 bucks to see. I'm glad I did. These will make your bass stand out in the mix and really save your amp from working harder than it has to. I'm playing these on an 09 Ibanez sr305 with arched pickups (which sound great on their own). I'm running through a custom 2x10 cabinet with a micro 250 watt head. These strings gave my 210 similar low end oomph as a single 15 but also kept the high end definition. Really happy with these and will be getting them for my other basses.

The best flat wounds
I’ve been playing for 43+ years and IMHO, these are the best all around flat wound electric bass string. Just the right tension and brightness, and longevity. I prefer these over, Fender, GHS, Labella, Dunlop, Pyramid, Rotosound…I’ve tried them all. They work well with headless bass systems too. Used these on my LeH Offset 5 and Ibanez EHB1505 with great results. Once they’re worked in a little, they stay in tune. I recommend these strings <two thumbs up>

So far, these are awesome
Reviews (both here and on other sites that sell this product) seem to indicate a lot of breaking strings from normal use, but I have yet to experience this -- and I tune my top 3 strings a full step higher than standard tuning. I threw a set on my Peavey Millennium to see what they were all about, and was impressed. They are loud -- with no adjustments to volume or EQ, it sounded like I turned my amp up a few notches. They are full-sounding and definitely have the advertised increase in low-end response. They are punchy but still new, so we'll see how the sound holds up as they break in. I find myself disagreeing with their claim that the feel is 'silky smooth' -- in fact, I think the friction on them is a touch higher than the Slinkys I normally play on ( it's nothing major that affects playability, but it was something I noticed ). If you're on the fence, give 'em a shot, you won't be disappointed.

They sound good but a string popped
I've been a fan of the regular Ernie Ball 5-string set for over a decade. I wanted to give the cobalt a try. They sounded good, but the A string popped at the bridge while I was tuning the bass. Never happened before. I did call Ernie Ball and they responded quickly and mailed me a replacement. Hopefully, this was a one-off occurrence.

The B string broke easily.
Ok, I have to say that those are the best-sounding strings you can buy, but there is a quality control issue. They break on you during the installation It's not the first time this has happened to me. The solution is to go to a local store in your city so you can return them if something happens I had to go to Guitar Center and change the string at the store to replace it right away if I get a bad one. If you like those strings, don't buy online. You local store will give you a refund or a new set.

Deep and bright
To date I have probably tried every bass string out there. These give me everything I look for. A full loud B string and Singing Highs on the D/G. I using them on 2 separate Ibanez 5’s. A 1405 and a SR5FMDX

I was quite surprised to learn....
I bought these for my cheapo experiment bass and im actually pretty impressed. They feel great and sound perfect. I can't attest yet to how long they will last, but after about 4 weeks they still sound and feel new. I don't play a whole lot though I will also say that. If your on the fence about trying these out, go ahead and get them, even if they aren't your cup of team they are a great set of bass strings!

My go-to String
This is my go-to string. I will go back and forth between Ernie Ball Super Slinky (a little brighter) and Slinky Cobalts. I like the Cobalts as I find them more responsive, better all round performance, and they seem to last a little a little longer before some ugly harmonics kick in letting me know when I need to change. A little more expensive from Amazon than other vendors, but I usually get them in the next day or two after ordering. Great product!
