Great Watch!
I bought this watch after the resin strap on my old Armitron watch broke. I was disappointed to find that armitron doesn't make my old watch anymore, so I had to find a replacement. I did extensive research and finally settled on this watch. I needed a rugged, waterproof, backlit, time-and-date + day of week watch. I also needed a watch with a durable strap, because the resin strap sport watches only last 2 or 3 years, which is how long I had my old one. I love the mid-size design of this watch. It fits well and looks really cool. I bought a used like-new one because it was cheaper and it arrived in perfect condition, just without the instructions or original packaging. It is easy to set, easy to read, and the backlighting is just the right brightness. Setting it accurately is tricky, but I've developed my own system to only be one second off, if that. The band is slightly itchy, but it should break in. Overall, I love my new watch and I'm happy that I found something that can take a beating and still work!

Quality watch at a reasonable price
Velcro-closure on the tough fabric band is comfortable and very secure. This beautiful sports watch allows for 12 or 24-hour timekeeping, and is easy to set. Wearers can program 2 entirety different times using the "Time1" and "Time 2" settings, very useful for travel.

Good Sport Watch
This is a good sport watch. I wear these to work in all sorts of conditions...and they take a beating. I have to get the unisex watches/bands as I have thick wrists for a woman and women's watchbands generally don't fit me. I can't wear the metal watch bands because when I flex my wrist they break. I can't wear the leather bands because when I sweat the band just deteriorates and falls apart. These woven bands are just perfect. I also like that it is velcro. That way you can adjust it perfectly to your wrist. I have worn these watches for nearly 15 years. It has two time functions - so that you can have regular time and maybe the time in another country. It has a split lap stop watch so that you can time each lap as well as your full run. Time, date, alarm, and hour beep if you so desire. It also has a back light which is really handy to tell time in the dark. Only problem with that is at about the year mark, the battery is so low that the light will come on, but the numbers disappear. But, well, it is what it is. Some reviewers have complained that the band is rather small fitting around the wrist. I am a woman and I bought a womans Timex once. The band was EXTREMELY small and barely fit me at all. It would come off a lot of the time because there was barely any velcro to wrap around. This watch is probably more of a unisex watch. Not a woman's per se, but not a big man's watch either. It is about in the middle. I have a 7.5" wrist and that is about as large of a wrist that this watch will fit. The women's watch that I had previously had would only fit a 7" wrist.

Good Watch; Bad Strap
The watch is like many other I've worn, Timex included, and has all the features I want in a standard watch. I like the colors which are very similar to my last Timex which I've had to abandon due to failure of the wrist band after many years of daily use and the dearth of stores which replace straps. The watch itself is reliable and works well, but I do not like the velcro strap. I have very small wrists and searched a lot before deciding on this watch with an adjustable strap unhindered by the placement of buckle and holes. However, the strap is still too big to fit me well and it is tedious to align both sides of the velcro. Also, the velcro will catch my sleeves or other parts of my clothing every now and then and is avoidable only through meticulous placment of the two sides of velcro. I myself can't replace a strap with a better one because I don't know how, but if you can and have large enough wrists, then this may be the watch for you. If the manufacture or anyone else knows where one can purchase a small wrist band where the sellers will remove the one that I now have with a new, better fitting one, I wish there were a way that you could tell me. I do wish the watch were flatter because my sleeves are hard to move back and forth over it and it's also in the way of typing on my computer as well as tucking sheets in between mattress and headboard. (I can't rate the light because I haven't yet looked for the switch, and its water resistance I can't comment upon because I have not and will not subject the watch to water.)

Everything I expected.
Not the watch I would want as an adult but fits my son perfectly. It’s durable, red and makes him happy. It should last him until he is old enough to get a job and make his own style and life choices.

Good basic digital watch for women
Okay, so it's a great watch for women with small to medium wrists. Here's my pros and cons list: Pros: - Super easy to set. The package insert does NOT include instructions. This is my first Timex Expedition watch, so I had no experience going in. All you do is press Set and you use the Start and Stop buttons to move up and down, respectively, through the settings. Easy enough! - I love the simplicity of the watch. It's simple and easy to read. - It has the day of the week AND the month AND the date. I wanted to make sure any watch I get has these features. - The watch band seems high quality. It is fabric/nylon, so it should hold up for several years (we'll see I guess). - The Indiglo is pretty and works great in the dark! Cons: - I have to tighten the band as tight as possible in order to prevent the watch from wobbling around my wrist. It may be because my wrist is small and the watch itself is a bit heavy in comparison. I AM new to wearing a watch, so maybe it's just something I have to get used to. - The display is perfect, but only when looking at it straight on (when facing you directly). If you were to glance over at your watch while you're typing on your computer, you can't see the time. It's too blurry. So the viewing angles are terrible. You can only see the time if you look directly at it. Again, this might be an issue with all digital watches, but I sort of expected more in today's technological world. This is probably my biggest con and biggest disappointment. - The band holder is also nylon, so I had some trouble getting the extra band into the band holder. Now that I think more about it, I'm not sure what a better alternative would be for a nylon band... maybe if they glued the band holder on to the band, it wouldn't move around so much when trying to insert the band into the holder. Once you're inserted it, it seems to stay in place, though. So that's good. But I can see it loosening up and not working well in the future. I've only had this watch since yesterday, so I haven't been able to test its waterproofness yet. I will update this review if I am unhappy with the waterproofness. Overall, it's exactly what I was looking for: a basic digital watch that shows the day and date, with a band that is small enough to fit my female wrist. However, I would have liked it better if the price was $10-15 less than what I paid for it. UPDATE: I've since moved on to a few other watches since this one. I have concluded that I do NOT like having a cloth/nylon watch band, and I prefer the rubber/plastic bands now. The nylon band takes way too long to dry after a shower, whereas the plastic bands don't need ANY drying time. There are a lot of good plastic banded watches out there, and I've tried a few no-name brands on Amazon and have been happier with them than I was with this Timex. They are also not as heavy and floppy on my wrist.

Practically Perfect
This is a great little watch. It’s legible, light on the wrist, and understated in design. It features everything I look for in a digital watch: water resistance to at least 100M, three customizable alarms that are loud enough to be practical, countdown timer, dual time zones, stopwatch, 12 and 24-hour modes, Indiglo, and non-proprietary lugs. It is 33mm in diameter and has a thin profile; both things I see as a plusses. As a pro tip -- this watch pairs well with the Barton Watch Bands Elite Silicone strap designed for the 16mm lug width common to the much lauded, but less functional, Casio G-Shock family of watches.

No instruction manual included and NOT intuitive if you have never had this type of watch.....
I read many of the reviews very carefully as I needed a watch that was very easy to set and very intuitive. All of the reviews rave about how easy this watch is to set and how intuitive it is. Believe me when I say that if you have never owned this type of watch before it is absolutely NOT easy to set or intuitive. Also be aware that there is NO manual included at all. There is a thick and long piece of paper rolled up inside the band. I purchased this for my 10 year old son. I thought to myself, "Great, now I can set everything before I give it to him." Oh but not a chance, the paper only references the warranty and the battery in about 10 different languages with print so small you need a magnifying glass to read. I had to go to the manufacturer's website, figure out which of the "expedition" watches this one was and download the instruction manual. Even then, it was a PDF file which included many different languages all in different columns on the same page so when printed, the print was so small it was impossible to read. I had to convert the PDF file to a Word document and enlarge the view by about 300x before I could print it. Even then, it would not print the instructions regarding the timer and alarm, which I ended up having to type in a separate Word document myself. We aren't going to pull up a Word document every time we need to reference the instructions. This is absolutely ridiculous. My son is 10 years old and this is his first watch that includes features other than the time. I imagine once you have used this watch for a while and if you use the features regularly, it will become intuitive. But who in the world would guess that the "mode" button is also the "next" button or that the "start/split" button is the "+" button while the Stop/Reset button is also the "-" button. I messed with it for 15-12 minutes and wanted to throw it against the wall. I was ready to send it back but decided to jump through hoops to find the instructions online. So be aware that if this is your first experience with this type of watch, you will need the instructions and you will have to go online to get them. As far as details regarding the watch go, it is definitely more for a child or a woman. I would think the face would be way too small for most men. Not sure how well we are going to like the Velcro, but time will tell. I still don't understand why there is a time zone 1 and a time zone 2 or what that means and there was nothing in the instructions to indicate the purpose. Maybe it allows you to switch one time zone without completely resetting the time on your watch? Anyway, the watch is fine. I suspect my son is going to forget how to set the countdown timer and alarms and I am going to have to pull out the directions and do it for him the first few times. Not super thrilled and completely frustrated with the whole instruction issue, thus the 3 stars.

Perfect for small wrists.
I wanted to get a brand I had heard of for piece of mind. Easy to use. My 10 year old loves it, and it looks good. Timex does good kids watches. I don't know why other brands don't offer much of a selection. I would recommend this.
