The only decent bulb for 9004, well worth the price
OK, everybody with a car that takes 9004 headlights know how horrible the design is. The low-beam is only 45 watts, focused basically like a cheap flood light only worse. Finally, there is a good bulb in 9004: the GE Nighthawk Platinum. It is the only +90 sold in the US, and the only one for 9004. (It is also available in almost every bulb type except sealed beams). As the 9004 was US-only, most of the good European bulbs (Osram Silverstar and Nightbreaker, Philips Xtreme Power, etc) are not available in 9004.No longer sold anywhere except Amazon (Wal-Mart used to sell them but they no longer carry this awesome bulb). The price is comparable to the Sylvania Silverstar, and cheaper than the Silverstar Ultra (which are both "faker" blue-tinted overpriced junk). Most "bright" and "white" bulbs cheat their way to white light by dipping their bulb in blue paint--it "looks" whiter but the blue filter really robs much of the light, and visibility is actually *decreased*. This tint also shortens the life of the bulb significantly. Blue light also scatters profusely in the rain and other bad weather. The Nighthawk Platinum only has a narrow band of blue tint near the end of the bulb, away from the filament, so its light-robbing effect is minimal if that. (the regular Nighthawk has no tint at all)The GE Nighthawk Platinum is the only bulb I'll use as long as I own my car. (I'll make *sure* my next car doesn't use 9004).The first night I used them I noticed a marked improvement. The light is brighter and I can see farther, both in low-beam and high-beam. Field of vision also improved significantly over the Wagner bulbs previously in my car. I noticed more side-road visibility, particularly to the left. The bulbs only look white when it is dark out. In the daytime, you can clearly see a blue spot in the center and that regular yellowish halogen color everywhere else. But from dusk to dawn, they are nice and white.Amazon's service was good. I got them shipped free, and they arrived in only three days.WARNING: Avoid the Nighthawk Sport--that one is a blue faker like the Silverstar. There are three bulbs in the Nighthawk family: the regular Nighthawk, Nighthawk Platinum (subject of this review), and Nighthawk Sport. I have heard very good things about the regular Nighthawk. Whether the price difference between regular and Platinum is worth it will vary depending on the prices for each one, as well as which type bulb your car takes. But for 9004, the extra cost is *definitely* worth it. And, there is a $15 rebate on Nighthawk Platinum until the end of the year (2010), which eliminates the extra cost over the non-Platinum Nighthawk. And as a final note, with ANY headlight bulb (except for sealed beams), DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS! Otherwise, the oil from your skin WILL create a "hot spot" when the lights are used and will severely shorten the life of the bulb. Consider wearing some kind of gloves.

Best lights out there for a 2000 Ford Focus
I have a 2000 Ford Focus and was not happy with light output from my headlights. There are two things you need to do to get them bright. 1. use a kit like the one from 3M that is also sold on Amazon to polish and clean the headlights. It comes with special papers that sand away all the dirt and grime of the casing to your headlights. Ones they are clean, you need a brighter bulb to shine through. I previously used ones from Sylvania called SilverStar and they were a nice upgrade from the stock bulbs that lasted almost 11 years in my car. After 14 months, the SilverStar's started to blow so I replaced them with these bulbs from GE. I cant comment on the life of them as I've only had them for a few months now, but they are nice and bright. They are only a little brighter then the SliversStars, however these bulbs have better side coverage, (the beam is wider and covers more road) which is really nice. TIP: when installing these, make sure you use gloves not to touch the bulbs, and make sure you don't put them in upside down. They can only go in two ways. Put them both in and flick your high beams on and off. If they are installed the same way, you'll just see them get brighter and dimmer. If one is upside down, you'll see an X pattern. (park several feet back from a wall....if one beam is above the other, and then you put on your high beams and the beams are still uneven but reversed, you one wrong) Again, I will say these are worth the money, and when the blow, I'll be sure to buy these again as I believe these are the best bulbs for a 2000 Ford Focus!

GE Nighthawk Platinum's V.S Phillips X-Treme Vision (H7)
Alright so much like everyone else who has commented on this bulb i did quite a bit of research before deciding which bulbs i wanted to upgrade my stock halogens with. Keep in mind I own a brand new 2015 Hyundai Veloster with less than 1K miles on it so the stock bulbs were actually quite good but i wanted to see if i could get more brightness and distance along with a whiter temperature. The reason i added the Phillip's X-Treme Visions into this review is because I bought them both in the same order to do a comparison test with to see which bulbs were brighter, whiter etc because they were the two I was debating over. Now I had originally thought that I was going to put the Phillips in the Hi's and GE's in the lows because I figured the Phillips would be brighter (I do a lot of dark country road driving where there is an overabundance of deer/wild life) but i ended up doing the exact opposite because the GE's in my opinion gave off a whiter light.I tried both bulbs in the hi/low beams on one side vs the original OEM bulbs and let me tell you i wasn't that impressed at all. They were brighter, but not by much and the temperature wasn't substantially whiter. The GE's claimed up to a 90% increase and the Phillips up to a 110% increase over standard halogens. In my particular application I would say they were both 20% brighter. The one thing i do like about these bulbs is they light up further down road, I would say I got a 30% further beam and a 15% wider beam with both bulbs. In my honest opinion if you own a brand new car and your bulbs haven't gone out yet, don't bother buying these thinking you’re going to get a substantial upgrade because you'll be disappointed. I can imagine though in older vehicles where the bulb quality might be lower these would be a substantial upgrade. In my honest review and after about an hour or two of testing I would honestly rate these two bulbs evenly with the GE's giving off a slightly whiter light so for the price difference definitely get the GE's. I paid $17 and change for the GE's and $28 and change for the Phillips. Lastly, I'm not going to bother uploading any pictures because I don't think you'll even be able to see a difference in the photos. Conclusion: If you own an older vehicle with lower quality bulbs both of these would be a good choice as a replacement, if you own a new vehicle and you’re looking for a upgrade look elsewhere. Also if your buying either of these thinking your even remotely going to get that HID 6500k diamond whitish blue temperature, you will be sadly disappointed, this is more of a 4500k white.

Increibles
