Received this watch one week ago, two days ahead of the promised delivery date. Watch has kept perfect time during the one week that I have had it. It’s a beautiful watch. It feels good in my hand. It is truly ultra thin and feels very comfortable in my pocket. It is so light weight and thin that I don’t even notice that it’s there. It’ s hard to believe that I paid only $60 for this watch. It is obvious that Gotham takes great pride in the quality of their workmanship. If you’re tired of the cheap junk from China, I would highly recommend this watch. If you value quality more than price, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Updated: Jul 10, 2023: My original review covered only the watch, not the watch chain, which is a different story. The clips on the ends of the chain are difficult to use and are obviously low quality. That’s not a problem for me since I never intended to use the chain anyway. I’m surprised that Gotham includes such a low quality chain with such a high quality watch. Except for the chain, I am extremely pleased with this watch.

After using this every day for about a year, I like the watch a lot. It's quite scratched up at this point, since I'm pretty active in my use with it, but I've dropped it, hit it against things, and one kid even snatched it and threw it, but it keeps running just fine. Not cracks, and not deep scratches, just normal surface wear. It does seem to be ever so slightly fast, I've had to turn it back about 30 second twice now in the past year. The chain has taken much more of a beating though, the silver coating is coming off to reveal the copper color beneath it, and I'm guessing this will eventually wear down and fade into a dull grey. I've seen it before with other cheap chains and things. Additionally, the clasp that held the watch to the chain broke after about 2 months of use, and it wasn't a very good one to begin with. The little hook part that the guard was supposed to keep covered kept coming out, which would either cause the watch to fall off if it was jostled around too much, or it would hook onto the inside of my pocket, and I nearly ripped a hole in my pocket taking it out one time because of this. Idk, maybe I got a bad one. Regardless, for the price, I really like this watch. I'd find a different chain though, if you can. if not, this one is perfectly serviceable, especially if you are just using this as an accent piece, and not using it every day like I do.

I used to wear a swiss army pocket watch throughout the time that I was in high school and eventually stopped wearing it after I got my first cell phone. I figured that I didn't need it anymore because my phone had a clock in it and I wasn't really interested in wearing a wrist watch. About a month ago, I began to think that it would be cool to start wearing it again, partly for fashion and partly for convenience (It's much easier to reach into my back pocket for my pocket watch to read the time than it is to dig into my front pocket and take out my cell phone). My swiss army one had stopped working even after I had replaced the battery, so I decided to buy this one to satisfy my desire to start wearing a pocket watch again. I can say with the upmost confidence that this watch is much smaller, weighs less, and seems more delicate than my swiss army one, but that really doesn't bother me; I was looking for a watch that was simple, displayed arabic numerals, and kept good time, and this watch delivers in all of those respects. The box that it comes with says that Gotham, the manufacturer of the watch, provides a lifetime warranty for it, and that's a plus for me. I like the clip that comes with the watch. It's definitely better than my swiss army one, which was similar to a clip on a necklace, that being like a metal loop with a latch on it in which you open the latch and attach the loop to your pants or whatever; this watch's clip is more like the clip on a cell phone, one in which you simply slip the clip on your belt or pants or whatever and it stays in place. I also like the highly polished chrome back of the watch (It's a good and inconspicuous mirror). I don't know if the watch is waterproof; I'm not going to submerge it in water to find out, but it would be a plus for me if it is. The one drawback of the watch, though, is the chain that it comes with: I found it very prone to twisting and tangling, which I first found to be annoying, but I decided I could live with it. Luckily, however, I still had the chain from my swiss army watch, and I replaced the one that came with this watch with my swiss army one, and now I can honestly say that I'm satisfied with the watch and that it fulfills all of my needs. To me, that's a good idea to keep in mind when you're in the market for anything: don't ask, "Which is the most technologically advanced?" or "Which is the latest version?" or "Which one will make me popular?" , but rather, "Which one meets my needs?" All of the other options out there will be irrelevant once you own the product, and whether it is the latest and greatest really won't matter much if it doesn't meet your needs. This watch meets most of my needs, so I can say that I am satisfied with it.

This watch is ideal for my active life style. Blue jeans and crew t-shirt is my usual attire. The watch does not have a protruding time adjusting knob stem and is compact. The chain needs to be replaced with a nylon lanyard to reduce the weight and to keep it from scratching the watch over time. I used a lanyard supplied for the Fenix flashlight and it is about 9 inches in length. I looks similar to the YOUOWO 5 pack nylon lanyards sold by Amazon. The jeans pockets are usually a little tight hard to access, but it is easy to remove the watch by grabbing onto the lanyard and slipping it out. The lanyard can be attached to the belt loop or just left unsecured in the pocket. By the way, the watch is very light due to modern technology. The large face makes it easy to read the time for far sighted elders like me. Find it humorous when some critics mark it down saying its light and flimsy. Just because the early 1990s portable computers were hefty weighing in excess of 15 pounds, it doesn't mean it was a great computer. Update: 09/04/21 - Dropped the watch twice about 5 ft. and now the crystal has a crack close to the edge. The watch is functional and it is still holding together after 6 months. Cost to repair is substantially more than purchasing a new watch.

I love this watch. It is elegant in its simplicity. It is small and thin and easy to read. I hardly know it is in my pocket. It keeps excellent time since it is quartz, but the weird thing is that when I received it, it not only had the correct time, but was set for my time zone. I have never had that happen before. I own about twelve inexpensive pocket watches that are all nice to look at and keep great time, but this is my go to watch now. I am happy I bought it.

I bought this watch a month and a half ago. I still like the appearance and feel of it, down to the small details (for example, the way the link on top gently locks down behind the face). Also, unlike my last watch and many clocks around the house, this watch hasn't lost or gained a second of time in six weeks. I personally don't use the chain, since most men's pants have a small pocket (originally made for pocket watches, or so I've read) which this watch fits in nicely. I've also been impressed by the customer service of Gotham Watch, which apparently both makes these watches and sells them. Before ordering, I asked a detailed question (about how audible the watch's ticking was), and received a detailed response the same day, along with an offer to return the watch for a full refund if I found it unsatisfactory. (I can hear it ticking if I hold it up to my ear, but not at arm's length -- or in my pocket. This makes it much quieter than the analog clocks I don't like, whose ticking I can hear if I'm in the same quiet room.) After receiving the watch, I found it was not quite as thin as I expected. I noticed that perhaps a third of its thickness was due to the transparent crystal covering, not shown in the photograph. Again, the seller replied the same day, explaining that the crystal had been removed to eliminate glare from the front photos, but should have been restored for the side photos. Apparently I was the first to point this out in three years, so I guess it hasn't bothered most people. He said he'd try to re-shoot the side photos, and offered me the choice of returning the watch for a full refund or receiving a discount. It's still a thin watch, and doesn't feel bulky in my pocket, so I'm keeping it. Another note: the watch I received after ordering from this page has a reflective finish, whereas the photos (especially of the back plate) look like a matte finish. I didn't even notice the difference until writing this review. But if you're picky about this sort of thing, I recommend contacting Gotham Watch before ordering. This watch is very handsome, feels solid and well made, is very quiet and so far has been quite accurate. It is also TINY. I was looking for a traditional size pocket watch, which this one is definitely not. It should be considered a pendant or child's pocket watch. Although the case size is listed in the small print, the main description really should indicate that this is not a full size stop watch and for that I've knocked off one star (calling it a "Railroad" watch really implies the larger size). For anyone looking for a miniature pocket watch, this one easily rates the full five stars. For visual perspective, see the photo of this watch next to a wristwatch.
