Kenneth Cole Reaction Genuine Leather Dual Compartment Flapover Business Portfolio, Black

My initial impressions of this bag were high: a very low price compared to apparently similar bags, good capacity, professional appearance. After a few months of lightweight use on weekdays, however, the bag was falling apart. The seams were opening, a variety of white threads were sticking out from the zippers, there were rips and holes in the leather, and the coup de grace, one of the points where the shoulder strap attaches to the bag had almost completely ripped off. Incredibly poor quality and not worth the cheap price.I'm currently attempting to pursue the warranty with Heritage Travelware, the company who apparently actually makes these, and I'll update this review if I get anywhere with them.

Looks exactly as described. I used this for the first time for a quick turn around same day flight which did not require a suitcase. Although the leather looks a little less than top grain, the simple styling still make it look classy. I received several compliments and realized that I really liked the weight and comfort of it even when full. I like the stitching and the flap locks are secure even when the bag is tightly packed and closed. Inside was roomy enough for my covered clipboard, several documents, wallet, passport, chargers, phones, keys, and a bottle of water tucked in the corner. The little credit card sized openings are perfect for business and credit cards (since I did not want to also carry a handbag). The outside pocket perfectly fit my Samsung tablet and made for perfect easy access removal at the airport. Only negative - probably if there was an insert in the bottom to stabilize the bag when set down - it tends to fall over unless propped against something. I would buy another if it came in different colors.

I gave this as a gift to my boyfriend and it is magnificent. There's a lot of room in this bag. The quality of craftsmanship is amazing, the little details, and the material. But like many other customers have mentioned, the buckle was a bit of an issue. I wish that they remake it into a magnetic button buckle. If they do, I'll definitely buy another one.

Considering the MSRP, Amazon sells this bag at a very reasonable price. I have been using this for a couple weeks, everyday, for work and I haven't had any issues.I'm a big fan of the clasps which have the professional look of standard buckles, but with simpler practicality for usage. As many have mentioned the main compartment is not padded so I would not recommend putting any naked electronics in there. I have a tablet in a case which I carry around as well as a notebook and my Kindle (also in a case). There's also a zipped area in case you want to keep more personal documents back there. As for the other "main" compartment I keep business cards, pens, my work phone, and other miscellaneous things at the bottom. I would have liked a few more compartments, but there's nothing major. Other than that there is a zipped compartment at the front and an open one at the back for loose papers or whatever else.Bottom line: I have received multiple compliments on the looks of the bag, it's affordable on Amazon, it's practical, it's professional, and it's worth owning in my book.

So originally I went to MACY's to purchase this bag, on sale it was $127.98. My kid sister kept saying go to AMAZON. I checked it out and found it for $72.00. I could not believe it. It serves my purpose. I did not need a HUGE bag, just a bag for my iPad, work papers, lunch and a few other things I take daily with me. Very classy bag, sturdy and looks great. Not to mention that I saved over $50 while shopping here.Some fuss about the buckles, but I like them. They are sturdy and I would rather something hard to open than something easily open or the cheap magnetic stuff I've seen on some bags. I love all of the compartments within the bag which helps me stay organized, especially since I ride a commuter train (I can easily pull my pass out).Shipping was OUTSTANDING. I ordered the bag Sunday morning, and I received it Tuesday afternoon. OUTSTANDING.Overall, GREAT PURCHASE. I will update if something comes up, but I say other than normal wear and tear, this bag should be fine.

My boyfriend is an attorney, and he has had the same Kenneth Cole briefcase for 5+ years which has gone through the ringer over the years. I searched all over for a Kenneth Cole (he loves Kenneth Cole) briefcase that would be stylish, professional looking and meet his needs. This bag does ALL of that. It is the perfect length so legal sized folders and his laptop fit inside without an issue, the bag is of solid make so I don't anticipate and serious wear happening anytime soon (he has had it since Christmas 2013 and it still looks brand new) and he gets compliments on it all the time.Some of the other reviews state that the leather over the snaps starts to curl over time, but I have to say that the curling is fairly minimal and hardly noticeable.If I had to name one drawback of this briefcase I would say that it's the strap. It's a nylon mix fabric, which kind of takes away from the leather bag. I would have preferred a leather strap, but I still give this product a 5-Star rating despite the fact!

I've had the bag for about a month. I very much like the looks and functionality. I am also very happy about the price I paid. I've seen the same bag at Retail Outlets for twice the price.NOTE - There is no padding at all for carrying a laptop. The front interior compartment has the usual assortment of pockets - pen, cards, etc. and has ample space. The rear interior compartment works well for my laptop (16" diagonal body, not screen) WITH a neoprene sleeve. Without a sleeve, the laptop will get scratched/marred by the internal zippered pocket inside that rear compartment.The rear external pocket is fine for stowing reading materials, phone or tablet for quick access.There is also a external zippered front pocket, just under the flap. It works well for carrying chargers, accessories, etc.All in all - I like the bag functionality and the looks. We'll see how well it holds up.

The quality of this is shocking! Fake leather on the front panel, plastic hooks and clips and the appearance is one of a $20 bag from a street vendor.The manufacturer's statement "Genuine Top Grain Leather Exterior" is an full on lie.NOT Recommended unless the price drops to $25 bucks

The outside is nice but the material inside crackles like cellophane. Not happy as cheap. Not worth the money I paid
